Renovations

Rough-in and fit-off, on your builder's programme

New bathroom, new kitchen, or a refresh — the plumbing happens twice: the rough-in behind the walls, and the fit-off at the end. We do both, and we're there when your builder and tiler need us.

What we do

The plumbing that makes a reno work

Most of the plumbing in a renovation happens twice — and the second time is too late to change your mind. We do both stages, and we talk to you before the walls close so the choices are yours, not discovered later.

  • Bathroom rough-in

Supply and waste run for shower, basin, toilet and bath — laid out exactly to the fixture positions.

  • Bathroom fit-off

Tapware, mixer, shower, toilet and bath — fitted, sealed and tested after the tiling and waterproofing are done.

  • Kitchen fit-off

Sink, mixer, dishwasher and filter taps — connected properly, nothing leaking behind the cabinetry.

  • Moving plumbing

Relocating supply and waste when the new layout doesn't line up with the old one.

  • Honest layout advice

Before the walls close: what works, what costs more than it's worth, and what you'll regret.

  • Coordinated timing

Rough-in before the walls and tiles go on, fit-off after — worked around your builder's and tiler's programme.

Why the plumbing order matters

Rough-in has to happen before the walls close; fit-off can't happen until after the tiling is done. Miss either window and the whole job stalls — which is why the schedule is the skill. We lock both visits in with your builder up front so nobody is standing around waiting on the plumber.

Do we need to supply the fixtures?

Either way works. We'll fit what you've bought, or we can talk through options when you call. What matters is knowing what's coming before the rough-in goes in — that's when positions get set.

How long does rough-in take?

Usually a day or two for a standard bathroom, depending on how much is moving. Fit-off is typically a day after the tiling. Call with your job and we'll give you a real window.

Do you work with our builder?

Yes — that's the whole model. We coordinate both visits with your builder's and tiler's programme, so the walls close on time and the fit-off lands when the tiling is ready.

Will the floor need to come up?

Only if the waste line is moving to a new position — and we'll tell you that before the demo even starts, so it's never a surprise mid-reno.

Reno underway, plumbing question?

Talk before the walls close — it's the cheapest fix in the whole job.
